Danish Theatre Journalists have decided to award Archauz with: The Best Initiative of 2008

On Monday the 8th of December at 2 pm the Danish Theatre Journalists had their yearly official presentation of three awards, including the award for the Best Initiative of 15.000 Danish kr.
The Danish Theatre Journalists is an association of reviewers and journalists from the Danish media world.
The Best Initiative of the year goes to Koreografisk Center Archauz for their choreographic competition; Aarhus International Choreography Competition – AICC.
AICC got 102 applications from different choreographers from 42 countries – and four continents. The competition offered Denmark three days with contemporary dance of a very high standard.
The award was given to Artistic Director Jens Bjerregaard by journalist Vibeke Wern at a ceremony at Caféteatret in Copenhagen.
The Winners will returnWhile AICC won the award for Best Initiative on Monday the 8th, Rachel Erdos won the first prize of the AICC in June 2008. As part of the first prize, she will return to Aarhus and Archauz in May, to choreograph the performance
Out of Hauz vol. 3. The winner of 2nd prize, Catherine Gaudet of Canada, and winner of third prize, Anna Réti of Hungary, will also return to Aarhus in October 2009.
