Choreographer Ingvartsen returning to her hometown Aarhus with three performances at Archauz
"I present my performances all over Europe and I would very much like to perform even more in Denmark. It is great to return to Århus and Archauz. I began my career in the youth company, which
Marie Brolin-Tani had here in this building," says Mette Ingvartsen.
Ingvartsen was born and raised in Aarhus. As 18-year-old she had set the course towards dance. As the first Dane she was admitted to the International Dance education P.A.R.T.S. in Belgium and she is now a big name on the European performance scene.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday she and Dutch Jefta van Dinther perform their latest work, It's in the Air at Archauz.
A performance that - just as the title suggests - is litterally performed in the air. The two dancers performing on two giant trampolines!
Early Spring DelightIn addition to having a visit from Mette Ingvartsen there is a great amount of early spring delight at Archauz. During the whole month of February the audience in Aarhus defied the cold and chose contemporary art at Archauz.
Mancopy Dansekompagni´s own production Out of Hauz experiences vol 2, Rite, played at municipal bath and pool Spanien and sold out eight out of ten performances.
Similarly, the audience was queued up on the street when the copenhagen company danskdanseteater visited Aarhus last week.
