InkZ
InkZ is the writing on the wall.
Graffiti and murals are expressive art forms that both cross the time barrier and timestamp the present. Graffiti is the first form of art and means of communication that human beings used to communicate abstractly and through time, consciously leaving tracks of their existence.
The production’s three choreographers, Jens Bjerregaard (DK), Tomomi Yamauchi (JP) and Tim Feldmann (DK) have taken their inspiration from the graffiti artists Banksy, D*Face, Cease, Swoon, Twist, Revs 108, Ellis Gallagher, Kaws, and Buff Monster.
Sub choreographed by Tomomi Yamauchi (JP)Tomomi Yaumauchi, a Japanese choreographer living in Denmark, has created an aesthetic work for InkZ. She plays with the aesthetic of the written word and transfers this to her dance, building it up as she would a painting, using underlying movements to create a newly constructed work. Her dance is based on the sub-surface, on the sub-cultures, and on the unconscious, of the graphic expression.
Absorbedchoreographed by Jens Bjerregaard (DK) Mancopy’s artistic director and choreographer, Jens Bjerregaard, bases his new work on the very first form for graffiti: cave paintings. Cave paintings indicated a new stage of awareness for human beings. This development is used throughout the dance to compel movements that are both grounded yet strong and dynamic, expressive yet narrative.
In My Name?
choreographed by Tim Feldmann (DK) in collaboration with the dancers? We all have a central value within ourselves which we have an urge to express. We all carry the key to make a difference, to become an individual who contributes to significant change in the world. In Tim Feldmanns new work, he targets what it is that drives a person to take charge of his own life and in what way. Is it our subliminal passion that drives our actions forward, even beyond our own understanding? Or is it an intentional decision? Or is it a self-reflected awareness and spirituality?
