Simple Moves
Simple Moves brings Bjerregaard back on stage in a four-part, full-evening, solo performance, created in collaboration with three female artists.
Each collaborator brings a new approach to the piece and challenges Bjerregaard to work with new (simple) moves. Simple Moves has an aspect of the autobiographical, partly reflecting Bjerregaard’s personal but also reflecting his choreographic output since the first work in 1994.
Simple Moves is a title that covers several aspects being investigated in the work:
- that the idea of the simple-minded, the naive, is elegant in itself;
- that everything, even the most complex, can be broken down into simple parts; and
- that the abstract can maintain its own logic, even when it cannot be explained or put into words.
